A highly recommended research tool for students who are examining the practice of the Security Council on issues ranging from non-intervention to use of force. The topics are segregated according to articles of the UN Charter. It covers the period from 1946 to 2011 and is an authoritative study of the practice of the Security Council and positions of individual states in contentious cases. The following topics are covered:

A highly recommended research tool for students who are examining the practice of the United Nations. On certain topics, for example Article 2(4) and 2 (7) of the UN Charter, there are separate studies that examine key words of these articles and its interpretation by the Council members.

This site is recommended because (1) there is open access to materials published by the OUP on the subject; (2) it collects various articles, particularly, those published on blogs, in one page; and (3) on a specific topic (for example, on the Ukraine Use of Force Debate Map) one can find material on more border topics (for example the Chapter on Article 51 of the UN Charter in Simma’s seminal book on the UN Charter).
